If you have finally decided to learn about how money works, started reading books and blogs like our very own,  I’m sure you will get hook on this newest show in GMA News TV called ‘Pesos and Sense’. It is a weekly show that primarily tackles about the complex world of finance and investments for the Filipino people explained in the simplest way possible.

The show is hosted by a Registered Financial Planner (RFP), Mr. Aya Laraya every Saturday from 8:30am to 9:00am. Everything about Inflation, Mutual Funds, Stock Market, Insurance and personal finance will be discussed in the show.

Here’s the TV show teaser:

The premiere episode just started today, 3rd day of September 2011. Bro. Bo Sanchez and Citiseconline were the first ever guests of the show.

I was excited to see my life, finance and spiritual mentor, Bro. Bo on TV especially on how he shared that Money is not the root of all evil but the love of money is. It is not bad if you want to have more money but mainly because you want to share it with others. He also discussed the 10-20-70 Rule which I already posted in the previous articles. It is the simplest way of saving money.

The moment you receive your salary, set aside 10% for your tithe, 20% goes to your Investments and Savings and the rest will be for your basic needs and wants. Spending below your means and do it for a long time will definitely make you financially free.

Next guest is from Citiseconline. Informing the viewers that opening an account online is very easy and convenient. For an amount of Php5,000 you can call yourself an Investor already. Check out their website so you can invest in stock market at your own convenience. Here’s the link

Mr. Aya Laraya explained how you can earn in investing. The two ways of earning are through: Dividends and Selling your stocks on the higher price. The simplest way of defining dividends is, it is your cut in the company’s profits. Because once you invest in stock market you are already business partners of the biggest companies like Jollibee, PLDT, SM, Ayala group and the like. And selling your stocks on the higher price than the amount you purchased them.

At the end of the show, he read questions and answered them right away.
